wordless wednesday ( in the nick of time!)

Blessed evening, friends! The leaves have changed so quickly I am astonished. It's a bittersweet time ( see above), not only to see the trees shed their leaves, but to say goodbye to our local farmstand greenhouse, now empty and silent. I hope you've gotten out for some lovely walks before winter arrives.....

Our weather has been incredible for the last week or so (so untypical for October - almost too warm, really!). Yesterday it rained a bit and it is somewhat cooler and the leaves are coming down faster than ever. This seems to be a rather odd fall this year.

I'm sad to see the farmer's markets come to an end too - I think our market is open for 2 more Sundays and then it's done. I love the bldg. that your market is in - I bet it is amazing when the market is dressed in all it's summer bounty. Something to look forward to again next year, huh?

Hi Barb! I think I've lost track of weather from year to year up here - sometimes I swear I remember "a Fall" or "one winter" being odd ( like a flood, or an ice storm) - but they mostly slide together. The greenhouse here is from the farmstand up the road, not the local farmers market, which , I think, has its last day Saturday. Farmstand or farmers market, we will miss them all. Boy, the summer went by quickly, didn't it? Thanks as ever for swinging by!

I love bittersweet ... what a great picture, Katrina! I hate to see fall come to an end. We've just finished our "second summer" here in Minnesota, with unseasonably warm temps in the 80's. Things are heading back down to normal: a high of 58 is forecast for tomorrow!

Hi Marianne! Isn't it something? here we are at full moon time, and still only one little weensy frost one night, and that didn't even kill the tomato plant in the front of the house. I'm just fine with this weather, honestly:) The older I get, the more I cringe at the thought of four or five months of 6 foot snowdrifts. Enjoy it while you can!
